Alfa Pasca Carbon Aero Drop Bars 31.8mm - Lightweight for Road Bikes

These are my first set of carbon handlebars. I was a little apprehensive at first - if handlebars break while descending, it could land you in the hospital or cemetery. I'm happy to say that after 150+ miles, these Alfa Pasca handlebars are still going strong. At this point, I am totally confident in them.I ordered the 420mm width, and they weigh 171g on my kitchen scale - super light. The glossy finish looks great, and there were no defects in the carbon layup that were visible. The red and white graphics were completely covered by the handlebar tape, so don't worry if they don't match your bike.The reach is identical to my old FSA Vero handlebars that claimed 80mm. They do drop a little more, and the bend is a hybrid of ergo and compact. I like it a lot - more so than the traditional compact bend of most bars. The tops are oval in shape, but not flat like aero bars. Again, they fit my hands very well.Regarding assembly - you have to use carbon paste with carbon bars or seatposts. I use the Park Tools paste here - https://www.amazon.com/Park-Tool-SAC-2-Assembly-Compound/dp/B005Z4BAAK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1536011802&sr=8-1&keywords=park+tool+supergrip+carbon+and+alloy+assembly+compound I tightened the stem clamps to 4nm, working up to that torque a little at a time. For the levers, I tightened them using an allen key just until they didn't move anymore. If you hear any cracking while assembling the handlebars, you broke them - do not use.Only deducting a star for the routing channels for the cables. They are totally on the bottom of the bars. It would be better if they started on the front and moved to the bottom. I will update if I have any issues, but as of now, I fully recommend these bars.
