Had tried 8-9 different brands of protein, will forever stick with optimum nutritionThis product may have been almost a life saver for me. I have been using it for 10 years. I became seriously ill about a decade ago and was losing weight for unknown reasons. I am 5'10" and used to weigh in the mid 160s prior to my illness. Finally after dropping to the upper 120s my doctor recommended that I try drinking gainer shakes though he didn't mention this product in particular. I happened to mention my weight loss dilemma to my brother-in-law who pointed me to this product. So glad that he did. I started out drinking two servings per day and usually add a scoop of ice cream to it in the blender. It tastes fine to me with plain water but the ice cream makes the drink pleasingly colder. Anyhow, this put a stop to my nose diving weight and gradually pushed me into the low 130s which helped me feel some relief about my condition. About a year later I joined a gym and started working out with weights 3 times a week at least an hour each time, plus did some weight lifting at home in between. Slowly, slowly my weight raised into a more respectable mid 140s after about a year of weight lifting exercices plus this product 2X a day. Roughly 3 years later with my weight seemingly stuck in the 140s I decided to reduce it to one serving a day. I always monitor my weight and it remained basically the same. About a year ago I reduced use of this to a half serving, 6 days a week. I continue to work out at the gym and at home like usual. My upper body strength has increased especially my arms/biceps/triceps and pec muscles even at the reduced half serving of gainer plus my usual scoop of ice cream in the blender. I am happy to say my weight over the last 6 months has been lifted to almost the same level as I had prior to my illness. I am currently bumping up on the 160 lbs mark. So I have been using this for 10 years straight now plus going at my weight lifting for nearly that long a time. When I look in the mirror I grin at the results I have had over this LONG period of time. But I give a lot of credit to this gainer product and my doctors who initially encouraged me to use something like this many years back. I tend to drink mine now in the mid afternoon after my gym or home workouts and in between lunch and dinner. It does sometimes take away my appetite a bit if I drink it too close to dinner, especially back in the beginning when I was drinking two servings a day. Now at half a serving the appetite loss is much less of a problem. Will I ever stop using this altogether? Maybe, but not just yet. I do think there is a correlation between using this after a workout and building your muscle tissue so I may eternally use this at half strength based just on that. By the way, adding a scoop of ice cream to it in the blender not only makes it tastier and creamier but also adds some extra calories and calcium (I believe). The double chocolate is my favorite and adding some mint ice cream is wonderfully tasty. I think overall this product tastes great, even those times that I simply use plain water without anything more.Started to see result after one month. If you’re having a hard time comparing serious mass vs pro gainer than read this. From personal experience trying both, pro gainer seems a little more in value but you can’t beat the quality ingredients. Pro gainer is a leaner, faster dissolving, great tasting mass gainer. When I began my journey trying to gain muscle mass fast I initially went with serious mass. I thought I was getting a good deal with the price for 5lbs of protein only to discover it was only 8 servings for $40! That blew my mind at the serving size of 2 heaping scoops and it would last me less than a week and a half. It also left me feeling bloated and it was so hard to dissolve. I was always left with chunks no matter how well it was mixed. Once I was out of the serious mass then I started researching optimums pro line of mass gainer which led me to this product. Now I strongly believe that you get what you pay for. I bought the 10 lb which gave me 28 servings at 1 healing scoop per serving and much more nutrients and vitamins. Although, it has less carbs and calories, it has a much better protein to carb ration in my opinion. I don’t get bloated, the flavor is great, and it’s the best dissolving protein I’ve ever seen! This product will last me almost a month and I’m extremely happy with it. It was delivered on time and free of any defects/tampering. Highly recommend this seller and product for anyone looking for a great, quality protein to pack muscle and weight fast.Once again, Optimum Nutrition has a winner. To give you an idea of my lifestyle so you can make a comparison, my style of weight-lifting, eating, etc. is more of a "clean-bulking" program. Many will say the concept of the clean bulk is a myth, but I've done it. Is it perfect? Nah, but it works for me. I watch my diet all the time but am no calorie-counting zealot. I exercise every day of the week with five weight lifting sessions and three half-hour interval training cardio sessions (one day is combined of course). I am 5'6" and weigh 138 lbs with about 7% body fat. I am no expert on fitness but I've made it to where I am and I'm proud of it. So this review won't be the most scientific post on Amazon.First off, this is a GAINER protein. I will say that again because it merits repeating. GAINER. Despite it being visible in gigantic green letters on the package, and in the name, and in the description, I am sure some people managed to glaze over this. This is a higher calorie protein while being lower in fat, sugars, etc. so lean mass can be put on. You will put on some great muscle growth if used appropriately with exercise and proper diet. Despite the fact it's a lean gainer, some loss in definition is inevitable. Not all of those calories will go straight towards building muscle mass alone.I have been using this protein since November 2013 and I have seen some great improvements in my muscle gains and my strength shot through the roof. I am sure having the extra calories from the protein to increase muscle growth attributed to those results. Now I did experience some minor loss in definition with this protein since it is after all a GAINER; even with my constant clean diet not all of the calories went straight to my muscles some of it inevitably went to my fat reserves, particularly around the mid-section of course, but the loss in tone was minor. All in all I am thrilled with the results that this protein gave me and how much it bulked up my muscles with such little change to my "aesthetics" so to speak. The protein tastes fine. I am so sick of seeing "THIS PROTEIN DOESN'T TASTE LIKE CANDY. ONE STAR. THIS IS GROSS DO NOT BUY." If you want a candy like taste then go eat chocolate. This is a protein. If it has all the sugars and flavor additives then guess what? It defeats the purpose. Is it the best tasting one I've had? No, but I don't really care. It did it's job and that's what matters.I highly recommend this protein if you're looking to increase muscle mass without adding as much "other mass" AKA lean mass. The price is also a steal for 10 lbs.Pro Tip: If you open the box they ship it in with a knife, be careful. I learned the hard way. Thus stuff in double chocolate flavour is delightful and easily the tastiest protein I've ever had. Highly recommend it if your trying to gain some quality mass but the tub won't last you long ya best bet is get the bigger tub or buy 2 of these 2kg ones. If you make this stuff with skimmed milk it'll top out at 800ish kcals add this to a decent balanced diet and you will get bigger :DAmazing optimum nutrition is very highly quality does make a improvement to muscle gainRelatively new to weight training for size gains, but this combined with Creatine is increasing muscle gains. Mixes easily with water and the two flavours tried so far are perfectly pleasant. The scoop is too big but just use a spoon or scoop from another product.its not the tub in the picture its a totally different tub its the old complex gainer not the new pro gainer so i was pissed off there but it tastes good and has similar nutritional values so it will have to do.Mixes really well and thick for a shake and one of the best tasting ones I've come across so far. If you have one of those motorised shakers, then that will struggle to mix this. Easily digestible though. Can't comment on results as everyone's different and therefore would be untrue.
